FINAL DAY OF FILMING

It is our final day of filming! (YAY!). We had to retake the shot where Sera enters the dark room so.. here's a glimpse of what is happening.

Our last and final shot was the slow mo of the candle dropping. On the day where we shot the dark room, we had encountered some problems but now with the help of the strings, we are able to shoot it slightly better!

After this comes the rotoscoping.. o gosh. Anyway it's wrap for our filming! Now it's Post production (those VFX shots umm..)

Back to Mount Faber

Finally our last scene!
*yawns* Meeting up on Friday morning (7.30am) at VivoCity was very tiring~ It's a weekday, there shouldn't be any tourist, right? RIGHT?

And I get irritated
Mei Yen and Yuan Ting then suggested to shoot at the different location, as we done wasting time waiting for the tour groups to leave. Luckily, they both found a suitable, tourist-free location within Mount Faber!
At long last~ [And yeap, a sneak peek to our scene]
Different location means different shots. We improvised some of the shots and most of it were original ideas. Well, that's about it. We managed to complete a scene and left with retaking 2 shots on Monday!~

The Day Before Chirstmas

Yes, we at the "Cliff" xD
Another day, another shooting. Now we're back at Motion Capture (MoCap) Studio! Finally, we can start on Elias' scene~ Let's set up the equipments, and of course, safety first:
3 people to ensure the safety of our actress

Hold hands to prevent a fall

"Do I have an insurance if I fall?"

Very "spacious"
I appreciate them for coming for the shoot even though it's eve of Christmas. On the other hand, the school will be closing at 1pm. So, we have a time constraint for this scene. Nevertheless, we co-operate with each other and not lose any valuable time---
Erm... No, seriously. We didn't lose any valuable time... ANYWAY,...
...we completed this scene. Overall, we making progress and left with 1 scene with 2 shots need to be retake.

Rolling in the Deep

Camera Rolling!!
Cloudy with a chance of drizzle. A good day to film the swimming pool scene! Well, our actresses and camera person worked hard to film this scene.
"Walao, how many takes you want sia?"
Without Mr Jame's help, we wouldn't get the permission to film within the premises and on behalf of Mevaruling Entertainment, we would like to thank him.
Our lecturer, Mr Jame. Who kindly also allowed us to use his GoPro for the underwater shoot

There were a lot of mishaps happened during the filming such as people in the pool and drizzling. However, we managed to complete the filming from 2pm - 6pm. Nevertheless, 1 scene drown! (Pun Intended)
Mr Jame: *assassin mode*
Well that's about it. Great job everyone who present during filming!~ ^^V

PRODUCTIVE DAY 3

Director Doge fans himself with his Clapper board.

Oh Well. We had filming on the 21st of December for the Corridor Scene whereby Seraphina has to run for her life. At first, we were supposed to film inside the Mocap Studio for the re-shoot of Dark Room Scene. However, we were trapped outside of SIDM. So, our group decided to go for location scouting in NYP for the Corridor Scene. Fortunately, we found a long corridor which is located inside the indoor sports hall. :)

Director and Camerawoman working hard during the shoot.

Our group worked really hard on that day. Even our dear Mei Yen and Yuan Ting had to run more than 16 times just to get the final footage we agreed on.

Murderer chasing after Seraphina (BTS):

To summarise, everyone who was present on that day worked really hard to finish filming the Corridor Scene. One less scene to do! Yeah! ^^ Special thanks to one of our main cast characters, Yuan Ting's sister(The Murderer), who came down to help us with our production.

Here's a short compilation of Mei Yen's and Director Doge's Demo Reels:

RUN! DIRECTOR RUN!

Kudos!

PRODUCTIVE DAY 2:

Previously, we had a few mistakes with the murderer's room and made a few changes. We also made sure not to repeat the same mistakes again (we accidentally shot in 1080i.. owell). We reshot and here are some of the photos of behind the scenes.

Producer's revenge/Demo how to hit him from the back

Sneak peek for one of the shots
A group shot after calling it a wrap

It was a fun, tiring yet productive day. Done with scene 1, woohoo! Good job mates~!

PRODUCTIVE DAY

Camera Rolling. ACTION!
Alright, according to our schedule, Mevaruling Entertainment should be filming Elias Erde's Scene today. However, he was busy and only available at noon. So, our alternative would be Seraphina's Scene since her scene will be film in the same room as Elias'.
Sneak peek to one of our scenes
In addition, we kept our eyes on the settings to avoid any further mistakes that we've done on 13 December Filming. We will refer the final take with a laptop and a television as to see any common errors such as camera shakes, out of focus and low ISO.
"Eh Doge, can or not? The effect can work?"
Overall, we really did well for today and the co-operation between the members were great. We managed to complete at least 90% of one of the scenes. We would like to thank Mr Jame. Even though he was busy, he still helped us in borrowing out equipments.
Packing up and Cleaning up
Tomorrow we will be filming another scene from morning until night. Holidays? What holidays?

Recap of our Activities so far

Okay this blog has been quite empty. Time to fill it up. I'll just do a general outline of what we've done so far. A simple start is better than no start, yes?
Our group initially has everything all planned out, all our shots, scenes, venues, prop listand all. Really detailed planning that took our beloved producer Vanessa quite a while to work out due to all our conflicting personal schedules, but she managed it in the end - a master list that combines our shot and call list - a masterpiece that is everything-in-one. Here's a snapshot of how it turned out (this is the edited version):
We started filming on the 12th, our first scene of the Murderer's Room, but we didn't manage to get any agreeable shots. A reshoot was scheduled the next day, and we managed to finish our first two shots. Alas, when we checked the footage after, we realised that we forgot to check our camera settings, and the footage we have are all in interlace, a huge careless mistake on our part.
We planned to have our first outdoor shoot of the school's swimming pool on the 12th too, but because we had no permission from Student Services to film there, we weren't allowed to film there, and had to make do with just stunt rehearsal with the actresses. Stunt rehearsal sounds cool, but really it was just practising how does Dr Medeia drown Doris without drowning her actress.
We had our outdoor shoot yesterday at Mount Faber, with assistance from Halky Universal's Alvin and Yong Zi. We were unfamiliar with the area and the application of the actors' makeup, so we ended only starting shooting at around 12am, a whole hour behind our schedule. We turned up empty handed again, bringing with us only our heavy equipment and a little experience on how to do that shot. Other than having to stop filming when tourists arrive at the place (which took most of our time), we also forgot to include the sun in our calculations. By the time we had the venue empty enough to film, the sun is already high above our heads and glaring UV rays down at us without mercy. This scene required all of our members to be present, so we had no other choice but to leave because one of us had something on later, rescheduling a retake on another day.
The original plan on the 16th was to film Elias' rock climbing scene in the MoCap Studio, but because of some communication accidents, Elias' actor couldn't be contacted, and we had to cancel the shoot. But our time in school wasn't totally wasted. The remaining of us sat down and came up with a final plan of our shooting schedule:
It is essentially a simplified version of our latest updates, but I had it in a calendar form. It only notes the venues and the name of the scenes, but at least it is less taxing on the eyes when we are revising on when are we going to do what where, yes? Okay the schedule just reminded me that I have a very early shoot tomorrow (or should I say later today). That'll be all then.

Signing off,
Yuanting.
